Mathematical Analysis

Where a perfectly linear, perfectly deterministic system turns out to be chaotic.

The thread underneath everything else: linear operators on infinite-dimensional spaces, semigroups generated by partial differential equations, and the surprising fact that perfectly linear systems can be chaotic. This is the area where I started, and where many of my collaborations with C. Lizama, A. Peris and others continue.
