Anomalous Diffusion in Photonics
Where ordinary diffusion stops holding, in a living cell and in a nonlinear optical cavity alike.
Inside a living cell, the textbook picture of diffusion stops holding. Molecules pause, get trapped, or take long flights through the cytoplasm. Working out which regime you are in, from a single trajectory that is short and noisy, is the question I have spent the last years on. It is also what the AnDi Challenge, which I co-organised, was built to measure.
